5 reasons to love selling products online

Everyone knows the song ‘Working 9 to 5’, in fact, I bet you sang that song title when you read it. That song is about how hard it can be to work a 9 to 5 job and of all the great lines in that song, there’s one line in particular that we love: “There's a better life, and you dream about it, don't you?”

Why dream about a better life when you can make it happen? Selling products online isn’t just a way to make a few extra bucks, it opens up a wide range of new opportunities for you (and the profits are nice too).

1) Work whenever you want

“Tumble outta bed and I stumble to the kitchen

Pour myself a cup of ambition”

The stress of waking up early to get to the office is a thing of the past. Your success is based on your own work so you can choose to work at the times that suit you best. Late risers can say goodbye to mornings for good. You know when you work best so you should choose when you do.

Not only do you get to work when you want, you also get to take breaks whenever you want. Flexible working hours give you more free time so you can see more of your family and friends (or have more time for yourself). Take up a new hobby or learn another language, you have all the time in the world.

2) Work wherever you want

“Out on the street the traffic starts jumpin'

With folks like me on the job from 9 to 5”

One of the best parts of starting your own online business is that you can work from wherever you want. Ask yourself this: where would you rather work?

  1. From the comfort of your own bed with your dog curled up next to you.
  2. At a poorly lit office while sat on a broken, squeaky, chair. Did I just get a chill or was that broken A/C?
  3. In the park, enjoying the crisp spring air and a healthy dose of vitamin D.
  4. That small coffee shop where they get the coffee juuust right and, somehow, they seem to know all your favourite tunes.
  5. On a tropical island as you jet around the world with all that free time you have now.

If you work in an office you may need to commute in every day; that’s 2 hours of being stuck in a cramped, smelly train. You can save yourself the money you’d normally spend on train tickets every year which you can spend on a new car, a Rolex or maybe that trip around the world I mentioned earlier.

3) Work on your own terms

“It's a rich man's game no matter what they call it

And you spend your life puttin' money in his wallet”

Everyone has had a bad boss. The kind of boss who is rude to your face, demands you work far too many extra unpaid hours or makes The Devil Wears Prada look like a comedy. Well, this is your chance to become your own boss.

You’ll learn loads of valuable skills like:

  • How to be the CEO of your own t-shirt empire as you take the reins and run your own solo business.
  • All about different topics and niche audiences around the world.
  • Taking your design skills to the next level - you'll become the Banksy of t-shirt designs.
  • Making the most of social media advertising. Now people will be swiping down their news feed and finding you.
  • Pretty organised already? You'll become even more organised when you have to manage all of those profits.
  • Make it happen whenever you want by taking full control of your own schedule.

4) Work to earn as much as you can

“Workin' 9 to 5, what a way to make a livin'

Barely gettin' by, it's all takin' and no givin’”

In your normal 9 to 5 job you’ll earn a fixed amount which is capped by your employer, but since you’re your own boss - the more work you put in, the more money you’ll earn. By being an entrepreneur “it’s all givin’ and takin’“.

At first, it might not seem like it, but your profits will build up alongside your knowledge and skills - sellers can earn thousands each month and with our Tier system you can earn up to €1.25 extra on every single sale. So be patient and practice selling your custom products, then you’ll see the profits roll on in.

5) Work to be the best person you can be

“Waitin' for the day your ship'll come in

An' the tide's gonna turn and it's all gonna roll your way”

Working as an entrepreneur gives you the chance to live a completely different life to the typical 9-5 daily grind. Plus, you get to have a flexible lifestyle, improve your work satisfaction, and most importantly, have total control over your own happiness.

According to a study earlier this year, 65% of entrepreneurs said they feel better off in terms of 'life satisfaction' compared to when they were employed. For example, 76 percent of self-employed Americans say our work has a positive impact on our self-worth, compared with 67 percent of those with jobs.

While 45 percent of working adults say they're still searching for the right career, only 35 percent of self-employed people feel that way.

So there you have it, and in the immortal words of Dolly Parton: “There's a better life”. Stop dreaming and #MakeItHappen cause 9 to 5 ain’t no way to make a livin’.
